To remember
Start with a single promise, visible in the cover photo, title, and first lines. Then correct any missing information to allow bookings with confidence.
1. Identify the problem before editing the listing
If your calendar shows almost no bookable nights, reworking the title won’t be enough. First check open dates, minimum stay, arrival rules, and total price for representative stays. Compare a weekend, a week, and a low-demand period.
When platform statistics are available, note views and bookings over the same period. A decline in local demand doesn’t automatically mean your listing is poor. Compare truly comparable dates, durations, and accommodations.
- The property appears with the targeted dates and number of travelers.
- The total price, including fees, remains consistent with similar lodgings.
- Stay constraints do not unnecessarily exclude targeted travelers.
2. Deliver your promise in one sentence
Choose a concrete advantage that matters to your traveler: a real workspace, a usable terrace, private parking, or a separate bedroom. A list of superlatives doesn’t help comparison. The statement must be verifiable in photos and amenities.
Example: “Two bedrooms, terrace, and parking 10 minutes' walk from the center” is more precise than “Beautiful apartment ideally located.” Indicate a distance or amenity only after verification. Do not turn a sofa bed into an extra bedroom.
3. Answer questions that block the booking
Review the latest messages received before booking. Recurring questions often reveal missing information: floor, elevator, beds, noise, parking, late access, or internet connection. Add the answer in the right place, then check that it doesn't contradict another section.
Also explain the limitations. A fourth floor without elevator, a steep staircase, or a shared terrace is not a detail to hide. Honest expectations are better than a booking followed by disappointment.
- Each sleeping area is described and photographed.
- Important equipment is confirmed in the platform’s fields.
- Access, noise, and parking constraints are explicit.
- Photos correspond to the current state of the lodging.
4. Choose corrections by impact and effort
5. Keep a record to understand what works
Note the date, the change and your hypothesis. For example: “Cover replaced by a bright living room view to make the volume clearer.” Keep the old version. Then compare periods close in seasonality and with similar available calendars.
Do not draw conclusions from a single booking. A local event, price, cancellation policy and availability can change the outcome. If multiple variables change together, you cannot attribute the evolution solely to the text.
Frequently asked questions
Does a better listing guarantee more bookings?
No. The presentation helps the traveler understand the offer, but demand, total price, availability and stay conditions also matter. Evaluate changes over comparable periods.
Where to start if I only have fifteen minutes?
Check availability, choose a readable cover photo, then correct the first lines to specify the main asset and sleeping arrangements. Keep other ideas in an action plan.
