Prepare the room before taking out your phone

Open the curtains, turn on useful lights, and remove miscellaneous items. Make the beds and straighten the chairs. Clean your phone’s lens: a smudge on the lens blurs and dulls a bright room.

Photograph at natural height keeping vertical lines straight. Avoid very wide angles that stretch a sofa or make a room look much larger. Move a few steps to frame clearly before taking multiple shots.

• No personal documents or identifiable persons present.
• Amenities actually available during the stay.

Choose a cover photo that shows a real benefit

The best coverage is not necessarily the most spectacular. For a family apartment, a clear view of the living room can be more useful than a decorative close-up. For a house with a pool, show the pool in its surroundings to make the use understandable.

Test the photo in small size and with a horizontal crop. The asset must remain visible without reading a caption. If you need to explain at length what is shown, try a simpler framing. Avoid busy collages that become illegible as thumbnails.

Build a visit, not a collection

The first photos should answer essential questions: where will I live, sleep, and eat? Then organize rooms in a logical order. Group complementary views of the same room without repeating the same angle five times.

Example for a two-room unit: living room and overview, bedroom and bed, equipped kitchen, bathroom, terrace, workspace, entrance and access. Adapt this order to your main advantage and type of stay. Photograph all sleeping areas, including the unfolded sofa if you count it in the capacity.

• Useful constraints: steps, access, shared spaces.

Edit to clarify, without inventing

Correcting a dark exposure, straightening a perspective, or balancing colors can make the photo truer to what the eye sees. Always check the result by comparing both images. AI tools can alter a detail you did not request.

Check the windows, sockets, mirrors, furniture, and outside view. Do not use a decoration proposal as a current photo if the items have not been installed. An image that adds a pool, sea view, or equipment that is not present creates a false expectation.

• No equipment added or removed by mistake.
• Original version kept for comparison.

Take the remote visit test

Show the gallery to someone unfamiliar with the listing. Ask how many people can sleep there, if the kitchen is private, where the bathroom is, and what the main feature is. Their hesitations will indicate which photos or captions to add.

Repeat this check after changing furniture or renovations. A gallery consistent with the current accommodation helps avoid surprises, even if it doesn’t guarantee more bookings.
